Y  U  M

by Rebecca

The city was grey, the buildings white
The steel was shining, the earth sharp tight.
The train rattled, squeaked and slammed,
Chalk on blackboard, a whining uncomfortable sound.
The carriage was musty, gum glued to a green seat,
The pattern was tartan, the passengers like concrete.
Smiling frowns with sombre stares
& beer cans for the promises of a sweet nowhere.

"Paint the town Black & Red":  London Fashion Week 2013

London Womenswear: A/W 2013 Unique Catwalk

SHOWstudio reported on the Unique show with, what I believe is the thesis of the new line, Georgiou wrote:

"You could sum it all up as this: a fuzzy knit over a patent leather skater skirt and a big furry coat to keep the British cold out. "

And sheeee was so right! I love the collection because, okay this may sound boring, but, because of it's 'wear-ability'. The looks combine both our unique grungy London confidence and the fact that, lefts face it, Britain gets bloody cold. Through the creative direction of Kate Phelan, the brand also allows for a 'girls who dress like boys' vibe and whether man-repellent or not the tailoring of the oversized coats and high-waist midi skirts are but only perfection.

I also loved the last few pieces which transformed into a vibrant, edgy evening array of burgundy sequins and fur...what more could a girl want. I'm a personal lover of the '90's crop with high-waist skirt. If done right, it shows off just the right amount of cheeky flesh, whilst being hugely flattering. And of course, as they have been doing since Friday across all of LFW, Cara and Jourdan stole the show, once again doing us Brits proud !

P.S. They all just look so cosy! and the blue eyeliner is crazzzy.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to explore LFW in person, but next year will be my season, I promise you that! One day soon...

These array of photos I've personally chosen were found from SHOWstudio, so take a look at the rest of the collection!

AILA WANG; sayyyy what?

I can't work out yet whether I'm torn between the sickening cuteness of the ridiculous chic toddler. Or be hatefully jealous as the little niece of 'the-one-and-only' Alexander Wang and most importantly her to die for wardrobe. I'm think I'm drooling, oh the shame.
