parisienne

a few snaps from paris, think I may have found the most beautiful city in the world. could have stayed there for months just taking photographs, eating crepes and drinking wine and smoking cigarettes trying to make friends with cool arty french men.

'and did you miss me whilst you were looking for yourself out there'

just randomly drafted this at 1.09am yesterday...

I will always hold a piece of you
Eclectic shades of grey and sad blue.
That place is a forgotten seashell: empty and cold
The crashing of the sea as silence enfolds.
Sombre and still, the soft nostalgia can amuse
Ochre & speckled indigo, lurking like an old bruise.
But after a while you forget, say adieu
Remember the nights before the inevitable winter curfew.
Tuck yourself away, rocking, creaking and alive
One day, my girl, you will again thrive.

'For my part, I prefer my heart to be broken. It is so lovely, dawn-kaleidoscopic within the crack' d.h.lawrence

saw these pieces of jewellery and advert on this blog recently (http://www.lateafternoonblog.com/) and I hope this doesn't count as copying or something in blogspot terms, but I had to reblog it. Her pieces are so retro and shabby chic and perfect festival wear, if you can afford it mind. anyway her work reminded me of summer so I thought, despite the rain drops currently streaking my sombre window, I would bring a bit of the summer to come. IBIZA, TURKEY, EUROPE, BESTIVAL etc etc.

(all photos are not my own)

PAUL CADDEN.

Had a lovely day in London today with my uncle doing arty shiz: white cube gallery, national portrait gallery, some other photography place and alfie's antique market (highly reccommended, according to a charming crazy lady Kate Moss shops there all the time, so if it's good enough for her, its good enough for us). these photos are completely unrelated, but I wanted to post them for a while because they are sensational pieces of art and the detail is dangerously realistic. of course all rights go to Paul Cadden and I am merely reposting his work in slobbering, idolising, adoringness (not a word I know, sorwwrry) so I hope you like.

P.S. Paris was "c'est superb" by the way, and photos to soon follow.

'you nearly broke your arse'

Soundtrack of my procrastination day, GREAT song! watch this space for some possible creative writing, I know right crazy, and maybe some fashion pieces and if you are really really lucky and my sheer laziness and boredom gives way I may write a journalistic piece. what has the world come to hey?

P.S Thankyou so much for all the views so far, I'm sure I sound desperate and needy like after the honeymoon period of a relationship but hey I like to fish for compliments. Anywaysss, thanks for sticking around and my deepest deepest apologies for all my spelling I am very aware of how shocking it is, I will do better Mr Gifford (my old school English teacher).

P.P.S And I may know a certain someone whose going to PARIS next week, and that someone is me and then you really will be inundated with posts, exciting news hey.

watchwatchwatchwatch.

'kiss me a question; ask me again with your eyes and I'll answer with my fingers, trailing reasons down your spine. There's a theory behind your knees and a postulate in the sweet spot behind your neck, and I'll respond to your query with a smooch and a holler, roll you up against the sink and wash your hair, make love till the plates fall off the shelf'.

you must watch 'like crazy', excellent acting: sublime, intense, rich, intriguing, chilling, unsettling and ultimately very bitter sweet - the fragility of the love between the actors makes you cold, confused and yet satisfied by the ending: the story is never finished.

the mouth is the gateway to the mind.

his work is so interesting and so current, you really can't but not appreciate or admire him. he says it how it is and I like that quality. his images of mouths are eye-opening and sensual. CHECK HIS WORK OUT ASAP.

before the sunrise, above skyscrapers.

'be unforgettable in clothes that last a lifetime' I do love old time 50's glamour black and white shoots. The soft light, strong silhouettes and devastatingly stunning attire emphasizes the drama of the period. These shots embody the intoxicating sexiness of the age, dripping in glamour, intense serenity and ultimate sophistication.

Shot by fashion photographer Thomas Whiteside in the January 2012 edition of ELLE magazine, the Lady in Waiting editorial is quintessentially 1950's Louis Vuitton, Dior & Fendi fashion. Despite the clear references to the socialite age of power dressing, classic fashion, the shoot does appear to tie in a fragile modernity is created through the heavy kohl makeup, delicate lace and occasional splashes of rich colour.
These photos bridge the gap between classic and retro into an accessible, real trend loved by many.
